Bringing Text to Life..

As virtual reality technology gain more ground in educational settings, its pedagogical value unfolds and is empirically validated. Among other benefits, immersive virtual environments create a sense of enhanced bodily presence in the fictional setting, which is known to bare a positive impact on memory and learning. In this project, we wish to harness this sense of immersion to tackle challenges in language learning and literacy specifically. We investigate cases where direct interaction with learning content, symbolic (text) or concrete (its depiction), can improve learning and promote deep understanding and performance.
